Wie wir wieder indigen werden
How can we become indigenous to the Earth again?
This book asks this question in a time of crisis. Outwardly, it long seemed as though everything was constantly getting better. Yet inwardly, we often feel disconnected: from ourselves, from others, and from the Earth.
The consequences can be severe: from loneliness, inner restlessness, psychological struggles, psychosomatic illness, and burnout to wars, climate change, and environmental disasters.
The 4,000-year-old Indigenous wisdom of the Kogi of the Sierra Nevada in northeastern Colombia offers solutions. Through Indigenous knowledge, the Kogi — like many other Indigenous peoples — have survived for millennia in some of the most inhospitable places on Earth and built flourishing cultures there.
It is a kind of knowledge that we ourselves have lost over time. How can we remember it again? And might we still carry more of it within us than we realize?
Often, it does not take much to translate the timeless wisdom of Indigenous peoples into our modern lives. This book shows how we can begin that journey.
